Very often we get asked by our guests "Where did you come up with the name"?

The name Hinterland is of German origin and is generally used to describe any part of a country where there are few people; where there is a very limited infrastructure and what infrastructure there is, is usually underdeveloped. It may imply that the area is back country, countryside or out in the boondocks. Very fitting indeed and yes, that's the way we like it!
